I spent the morning antique hunting with Lara. Our original goal for the day was to hit the Humane Society's annual tag sale bright and early. When we got there, we found out that it began yesterday and everything was already picked over. We cruised through town, but nothing much was happening due to the holiday weekend. We ended up finding several very cool antique shops and a great junk shop not too far out of town. I found this old wooden file at one of the shops. It is from a gas station in Kansas and full of old receipts. It is hinged and closes up like a box....not a lot of purpose, but an interesting piece to look at.
I listed some new pieces on etsy this afternoon including this one. She is made with old furniture hardware. Her skirt is a crotched doily. I love the contrast between the hard metal and soft fabric and lace. She has a sweet face framed inside of a tin baking cup. I used a few of my favorite antique buttons to give her a little extra style.
I also have a few new birds listed. This one is a new design with parfait cup wings. I like the way the rust is only on the tips of his wings. I have several other new pieces available as well, hope you will pop in and take a look.
Have a good weekend!
