Yesterday was a very special day....our 1st anniversary. I can't believe a year has already gone by. Instead of a fancy meal and flowers, we had decided to buy a chandelier for our dining room as our gift to one another. That was one of our main reasons for going to the collectible show on Thursday. We found this one from a lady who custom builds them from old parts and rewires them up to current code.
We spent most of the day installing it. Between doing a little extended wiring and anchoring it into the ceiling, it was a bigger job than we had anticipated. We are really happy with the final results. It looks amazing and is such an improvement over the ugly wood and brass 1970's chandelier that was there.
My sweet DH surprised me with these flowers as well.
He was not supposed to do that, but I am awfully glad that he did! I love fresh flowers and the house smelled heavenly all day long. My supportive, stable husband who loves me unconditionally is all I could ever ask for. I don't believe in dredging up the past, but a former, dysfunctional relationship makes me count my blessings everyday for what I now have. He even helps me with my artwork! He does some of the uninspiring prep work like sanding metal edges, painting odds and end parts and helps with my packing. What more could I ask for??
I did get to list some birds and bracelets on etsy before we started our lighting adventure.
I was tempted to hang onto this one. It spells out "artist" in an assortment of typewriter keys and metal letters. It is really eclectic and fun. I am making another one like it to keep for myself.
Hope everyone has a good day...Yeah! We have an extra hour today!

What and absolutely WONDERFUL anniversary present. You will cherish it always! Love the flowers too! I always tell my sweetie not to buy me any, hate to toss the money you know..but he surprises me often with flowers that he will pick from the side of the road. Isn't that the sweetest? Though I giggle thinking of what other people may think of this grown man on the side picking flowers!
Though that is not nearly as funny as the time he tried to catch lightening bugs on the side of the road! But that is another story!
Happy Anniversay!
