We made it home in one piece yesterday after experiencing "Clines." My sweet friend, Carla, recommended it to me and I just had to see it for myself. When we arrived, I sprayed myself down with bug repellent and dove in. All I can say is, "Wowza"...and I never say words like that!
I made my way through the sea of weeds, broken bottles and debris. 3 trucks that obviously belonged to dealers were parked out front, so I knew there was treasure to be found.
We ventured inside of the buildings and found some old typewriters. We got those and other small odds and ends at good prices. I found a few old enamel signs I wanted to hang in my kitchen, but ended up putting them back when I heard the price. You would think everything would be "cheap, cheap, cheap" at a place like this, but that was not the case.
The owner may look like a junk man, but he is no fool. He knows his business and some of his prices reflected this. Still, it was a blast checking this place out and I feel like we just scratched the tip of the iceberg while we were there.
On the way home, we stopped at an Antiques Show at a nearby arena. Oh my, I found the most fabulous mannequin there. I have been wanting one like this forever and spotted it the moment I walked through the door.
I also picked up some plates that we are going to put on our doors. I am going to try and replace some of the icky fake shiny brass ones that are currently there. You may find a few of these wind up in my supply shop as well!
Hope you all have a good weekend!
