There's nothing like a coat of fresh white paint on the walls. Especially when the walls have water stains, residue from cigarette smoke and a musty smell that was stubbornly holding on even after a good washing.
We got all of the floors covered, woodwork taped off and windows sheathed in plastic at the beginning of the week. The painters came in and sprayed everything with kilz at the end of the week and then finished up with paint on the second day. It turned out so good, but the prep was a real killer.
My favorite transformation has got to be the master bedroom. This had 1970's ala Brady Bunch brown paneling installed over plaster walls. There was no way to take it off without tearing the walls apart, so we taped up the fireplace and decided to spray it.
I feel like we really made some progress on the house this past week. Paint always make such a dramatic change. Now it's time to take the weekend off and enjoy an Easter dinner with my son and his girlfriend.
Hope you have a great Easter and thanks for stopping by!
