In my last post, I mentioned that I was planning on attending an auction. Well, it turned out to be a good one and I stuck it out until the very end.
Lot's of great furniture, dinnerware and miscellaneous items came and went during the day. I always think it's kind of sad when someones entire estate is up for sale to the highest bidder. But you never know what the family chose to keep. When there's this much stuff, I can understand how it can be a burden.
As expected there were lots of people and dealers milling about.
I spotted these cool clocks, but was soon outbid on the ones I wanted : (
The day started out sunny and bright, but by mid-afternoon we had a thunderstorm come rumbling through. Thank goodness for the tent!
Hess, my favorite auctioneer in action. He's a great guy who keeps it moving along while keeping everyone in stitches.
A few of the items I came home with...
A nice old Royal typewriter on a vintage metal table.
This old farm equipment is perfect on the side of my shed. The saw still has my bidding number 19 written on the blade in chalk.
Is this lamp gaudy or beautiful? Apparently, everyone thought it was ugly because I was the only bidder and got it for $20. It's going to look great after I get the crystals clean and sparkly! I already have 2 chandeliers in my home, how could I say no to this lamp?!
I picked up a few other things, some that I will be listing at Vintage Supply Co.... like very old documents with script handwriting, Christmas decorations and pretty china. Be sure to stop by in the next few days to check it out!

I especially like the farm equipment on your barn!
