Happy Memorial Weekend everyone. A heartfelt "thank you" goes out to all the service men and women that have fought for our country. My son, Alex, did his part and my stepson, Michael, is currently active duty in the Air Force. I am very proud of you both!
This holiday weekend gave us a good excuse to take a break from the house renovation. Last week was a tough one as I spent day after day up on a ladder painting the living room ceiling. The walls were originally a blinding shade of lemon yellow. We picked out a pretty taupe color and it really calmed it all down.
....and after. The walls were not that bad, but painting the ceiling turned out to be more work than anticipated. (Isn't that the way it always works out, though?) I always get so excited about a project that I under-estimate the work involved.
So what else is new?.....I did get some new things listed at Vintage Supply Co. I ended up working a few evenings as time would permit. More to come, I promise.
It's hard to part with this pretty ladies Watch... I can see it made into a pretty brooch or pendant.
Love the detail in the face of this Charlotte doll
No new artwork being made, unfortunately. I take that back, I did make this cute yarn bowl when my mom was in town.
It was super easy. You get a bowl and cover it with saran wrap. Then dip pieces of yarn or fibers in elmers glue and start winding them around the bottom of the bowl. It was a little messy, but very simple. It dried within a day or two and and then I just popped it off the bowl form.
One more thing; there's a great giveaway going on at Billie's site aka Canace. She will be giving away one of her beautiful assemblages. Be sure to visit her and register! You never know, you could be the lucky winner!
