This last week has gone by in a flurry...summer is here and there's a million and one things to get done every day. Company, dog sitting and an effort to squeeze in some creative time.
I've been working on these typewriter key bracelets off and on for the past few days. My favorite has to be this "Vintage Luvr" one! Something about the message just appeals to me : )
These 2 and a few more are available on etsy.
And yes, we have been dog sitting for my son and his girlfriend while they are in California. Sonya is a lab mix with a heart of gold. She's quite the fashionista and we've been having fun dressing her up and posting a picture on facebook everyday. (She already has her own facebook page) These are some of my favorites.
A bit more daring in a purple velvet hat.
Playing dress up has turned into a daily event as we brainstorm about what the picture of the day will be. She is always such a willing participant, too. Anyway, it's all in good fun and it's been a way for my son to stay connected to her while they are away. She's one of those dogs that think they're people not animals.
She's being picked up tomorrow and we're going to miss her. If we tried to dress up our little vicious cockapoo, we'd soon be missing a finger or two!

I spent a couple of days on my own in Seattle,so I took a short bus tour, which was a nice way to hit the highlights. I stayed in Pioneer Square so I was close to what I wanted to see. I really enjoyed the Underground Tour, but I did not care much for the Pike Place crowds either.
I also really liked the EMP Museum. I went for the science fiction exhibit, but also saw an Avatar exhibit with lots of props from the movie, and an exhibit of horror films. EMP is best known for their Jimi Hendrix/Nirvana/Seattle Sound. Too much for one visit.
Yakima (high desert) was hot, too. It was 110 when I left.

Hi Carla-
So nice to hear from you!
Oh....how did you like Pike Place Market? I found it really crowded. I hate crazy crowds of people these days.
I saw on the news that Seattle is 65 degrees. That's a far cry from our 105!
Hope you enjoy the cool weather...it will be a lot hotter in NC when you get home!
Take care- Jeanette

That dog is such a cutie! Looks really good in a hat. The friend I was visiting in Santa Barbara gave me a hat she said was made for me.
While I've been traveling, I've missed "checking in" to see what you're up to. Love your stuff on Etsy.
Guess where I went today? Pike Place Market, Seattle. Tomorrow, on to Yakima where our daughter is.
Your friend, Carla
