Well, our company is gone and it's a bit quieter here now. We had a fun time with my sister and her family, but all good things must come to an end. We managed to squeeze in an art project around the other activities going on. The kids worked for 2 days on altered bottle caps.
They really did a good job on them. We made some into necklaces and others became refrigerator magnets. It was a good trial run for me because I'm going to be teaching a kid's art camp in a few weeks and the bottle caps will be one of the main projects.
I was able to get back to the shop today and spent the afternoon reorganizing and listing items.
I have to admit, it felt really good to have some quiet time all to myself. I've done enough cooking and visiting in the past week to last me for awhile!
I have a lot of neat things that I am dying to get online. I am constantly on the look out for unique and affordable things to add to Vintage Supply, so please do check back in the next few days for more listings.
Speaking of collecting....my friend, Lara, sent me a link to this place. Looks like picking heaven to me. What do you think?
It's called Dead Horse Bay in NY.
You can read more about it here. The photos are also from this site.
Hope you all have a good weekend!

Billie- Isn't that place amazing? I would give anything to put my boots on and wander around there with a big sack over my shoulder! Yes, truly an interesting history.

Wow.. really shameful that Dead Horse Island hasn't been cleaned up. It's fascinating though when you read all about its history. Hmmmm.. day trip?

Thanks, Jill! I appreciate that. Yes, they were a fun project..and so simple for kids. I love the idea of vintage children's books!

The kids did a great job on those bottlecaps. I had my two make them this past winter and they said it was "awesome!" We made magnets and inserted little pics I copied from vintage children's books.
Thanks for the link to the deadhorse site. I must check that out!
