Well, Thanksgiving really blew right by this year. It was here and gone in the blink of an eye. We split the food preparation up this year, so it was much easier going for all.
Here's a picture of me and Bob with our silly little cockapoo. I always thought of myself as a cat person, but we have become a family of dogs. My two sons came up for Thanksgiving and they always bring along their dogs. So, we had lots of little helpers underfoot all day long!
It all worked out well, though and everyone got plenty to eat. My son (on the left) brought his fiance and her family this year. We've spent a little time together in the past, but it was nice to catch up and get to know each other a little better.
Instead of shopping, we went on a Black Friday hike in the woods the next day. So much better than fighting the crowds!
With Thanksgiving behind us, I don't have to tell you what's right around the corner.
I decided to go low-key and just set up a small table top tree. I like to do something different each season with my Christmas decor and a big, over the top tree was so "last year!"
I love this simple battery jar with a string of lights inside. It really emphasizes the green/blue color of the glass.
These old suitcases work perfectly as a casual base.
I arranged my vintage santa collection on the top shelf of the tv armoir. Sometimes I forget what I have, so it's always fun unpacking these. I usually try to add at least one a year.
I decided to display the nativity figures without the stable. These are pretty on their own with a little greenery and lights.
There's a lot going on this time of year, but I feel like I have it all under control. We will see how the next few weeks pan out, I may be eating my words!
