Today is the day that I announce the winner of the Christmas giveaway.
Linda McGowin Chance will receive this fun bundle of supplies.
If you didn't win, but still need some goodies similar to these, you can always check out Vintage Supply for all your mixed media needs.
I was thinking back to this time last year and it was right about now that I moved into my current workspace. I am a compulsive collector and I was getting run out of my house by the things I kept lugging home with me.
My attitude has always been, "if I find something I really like and 10 or 20 are available, why in the world would I buy only 1 or 2?"
An upstairs loft at our local art co-op was going mostly unused and I started thinking about moving my business there. It had once been occupied by a photographer, but she had moved out a few years ago.
I ended up signing a lease and the move began. I tried to shoot these photos from the same angle to give you a before and after. It took awhile to get everything moved over, but it has worked out beautifully.
Lots of light and space. Of course, I end up giving a lot more time and energy to the art co-op, but that's OK. It's non-profit and a really great place to foster the arts in our little town.
The same general area again...before and after.
I really love the fact that I go there and do my work and then go home and get away from it all. Being the type of person I am, I still find myself working from home on computer tasks, but at least I don't have to live amongst all the junk 24/7!
I love the fact that the area is ever-changing as I collect new things.
I keep moving my doll heads around as the mood strikes me.
Bottlecaps stored in a vintage suitcase.
These are some of the pretty shots. Of course, there's work areas also that are just functional.
Like the packing corner. Couldn't do without...
All that stuff has to go somewhere. It doesn't look organized, but I can put my hands on just about anything I need.
So that's the end of my little tour for now and you've seen where I spend much of my time.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Thanks, Debbie! Oh yes, those estate sales and auctions can be trouble. I am in South Carolina.

Beautiful space! My attitude is just like yours on purchasing 1 or 2 of an item if there are 10 or more available, we can always sell them, right! I recently discovered "estate sales"' and am now addicted. Where is your shop located? I would love to visit sometime.
