I wanted to share a fun bit of news with you...I've been named artist of the month at the local art co-op that I belong to (and spend so much of my time at!) It's a cool place, run completely by volunteers...an artistic oasis in our little southern town.
My display will be featured for a month and so far I have been getting a good response. It was challenging getting it all set up....my hubby helped me build those hanging displays from leftover wood I had from my studio renovation project. I used cup hooks and old peg nails to hang the jewelry. If you want to see more, check out their website HERE.
Speaking of jewelry, I was playing around with some odds and ends the other day and made up this piece.
That's a deer antler dangling below, but if you use your imagination, it sort of looks like a snagly tooth. It would be a fun piece to wear....available HERE if you are interested.
OK, besides making jewelry, I've been doing some flea marketing and listing in my etsy shop. I'm trying to get a nice build up of stock available (and weed out the things that I don't necessarily need anymore.)
I've got tons of gorgeous purple bottles available.
I bought a lot of these optical lens and can guarantee they are very old. They were in an old ratty wooden box, but it was the original and it kept them well protected over the years. I love making necklaces out of these, but I guess I can part with a few.
I really love this old key with the room number stamped on it. I'll bet it could tell some tales. This would be a great statement piece for a necklace!
Vintage brass locker tags. I have a stack of these on my worktable as we speak. They are going to be made into pendants with dangles hanging from them. And for once I don't need to drill holes...nice!
I've given you a little preview, but you must really come by the shop to look around. I will be listing more in the next couple of days, too.
Hope you have a great weekend!
