Since my last posting, I finished reading my grandmother's diary and it was wonderful. It gave me a connection to her that I never had before. There was nothing earth shattering in it, just everyday musings in the life of a young lady. I love the fact that she shared small tasks that an ordinary person would go through.....what she had for dinner, planning social functions, shopping trips, having her graduation picture taken and even gathering flowers from a local field with her girlfriend, Jo, who my mother is named after. It is really a treasure to keep and reread again and again.
Well, since I have everything ready for my show this weekend, I thought I would go out this afternoon and grab a quick lunch with my mom and take a few pictures along the way.
It was a glorious afternoon with crisp cool temperatures. I love this time of year.
Now, after my fried chicken lunch with homemade cornbread, green beans and slaw, my pillow is calling me for a short afternoon siesta.
