My 1st show of the season is just a week away and I think I may actually be ready for it. There will be last minute craziness, but I am getting as much as I can prepared in advance.
I have a little mock set up going on in my garage this week. This is a must if you haven't done a show in a while like me. It has allowed me play around with display and figure out exactly what I need to bring and where it all goes.
It should be a fun show with art, music, food and antiques. The setting is at The Rabon Creek Farm....in the country, but not too far off the beaten path.
My friend, Karen, has been kind enough to offer her help for the day. This takes a lot of the pressure off knowing I will have someone there with me. It's a life saver when you need a bathroom break or even a chance to take a look around the show for yourself.
On a different note, I received something very precious out of the blue the other day.
My mom dug out my grandmother's diary and gave it to me to read. My cousin, born exactly one year before me is named Alice....and I am Jeanette, also born on Dec. 2nd. Both of us named after our grandmother. This has always struck me as a funny coincidence.
This was written while she was a senior in high school and engaged to my grandfather. Little did she know how hard her life would become. After marrying, she had 5 kids, one right after another and times were not easy for her.
I will try to share more as I make my way through.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
