I got sidetracked on facebook today reminiscing about a favorite junk yard that I like to visit and that got me thinking about some of the cool places I visited in 2013. I thought I would share a few photos with you from the high points.
Auctions! Seems like there were more auctions than ever to visit this past year. Once the weather gets warm, I could probably find one to go to every weekend.
It's very easy to get caught up in the bidding and spending at these, so I need to have a bit more restraint when I do go. It's so much fun, though...I usually make it a day long event. My husband is a pretty good sport, but he puts his foot down when it comes to attending auctions, so most of the time I go by myself.
The antique and collectible show in Charlotte is usually a twice a year deal. I put my car on auto-pilot and it can practically find its way there!
The weather can really put a damper on this show. Luckily it's a 4 day event, so if it's forecasting rain, I'll pick another day to go. Trust me, I've been there when it's raining and it's not pretty. Muddy, cold....with most of the vendors closed up with plastic over their tables.
This antique barn was right outside Sedona, AZ. I wish I remembered the name, but it was a one time shot we happened to go by on our way to pick up a scenic train ride. Even though we were under time pressure, we still made a quick run through!
This kills me to find typewriters when I am so far from home. There's no way this was fitting in my suitcase for the plane ride back to SC.
I love the way they recycled paint cans at this shop in Sedona.
This picture is from the salvage yard I like to visit right outside of Anderson, SC. It's always so much fun to dig through the piles for diamonds in the rough.
Need a chair...or 2? This is at Clines, right outside of Charlotte, NC.
A fun little shop to pick through in the mountain town of Jerome, AZ.
So much to see....I could have spent the whole afternoon here.
Shanola in Greenville, SC is always a fun shop to stop by.
I haven't been in a while. I need to go back and see what kooky/cool new things they have.
OK, that's all I can find pictures of. There's more, I promise you, but sometimes I just get caught up in the whole shopping process and I completely forget to take pictures.
I wonder where 2014 will take me???
