Summer is in full swing and the days are zipping by. It has been so hot here! We have gotten very little rain and every day seems to be in the high 90's. I'm about ready to say "enough!" I can't believe I am rushing Fall, but the heat is really oppressive this year.
Sometimes something happens that makes your day a little brighter. A few months ago, I had a bottle cap order in my etsy shop and noticed the purchaser was Country Living magazine. They wanted their order express shipped for a magazine shoot they were doing. I happily complied and got their package out lickidy- split. I didn't forget about it, but put the whole thing in the back of my mind.
I received my Country Living magazine in the mail last week and it actually sat for about a day before I even opened it to browse through. Was I ever surprised to see my bottle caps on not one, but two pages! Yee-Ha! They didn't mention my shop (which would have been crazy free publicity), but I still think it's cool and I'm really happy about it.
"Hey CL- I'll send the next thing to you free if you put my shop name in print!"
It's worth a try if anyone's listening.
Anyway, besides selling inventory for magazine shoots, (it feels so good to say that) I've been listing bunches of new items.
This clock is so retro cool. It's not working, but the ticking would make me crazy anyway! These look great in a collection....the more you have the better!
This cone shaped inkwell is so old-school. When I look at it, I think of a one room country school at the turn of the century. The girls are wearing long dresses and bonnets and boys have on knickers and caps. (I think I'm having Little House on the Prairie flashbacks.)
Jump forward in time and these movie cameras were all the rage.
How about watering those flowerbeds in style? Galvanized sprinkling cans make wonderful pitchers to put a bunch of wildflowers in, too. I have a few outside my door and a mama bird always builds a nest in one and lays eggs.
If it's too hot to venture out to the flea markets this summer, we have quite a few mixed lots in our etsy shop. Avoid the crowds and shop from the comfort of your home!
Last, but not least is this misfit doll. She has a deformed mouth, no hair, spooky eyes....so much is wrong, but if you think like me, so much is right as well. She's been around the block and back, but imagine the stories she could tell! If you feel you want to give this girl a new home, find her here.
Be sure to check out my etsy shop. I'm taking a break from doing shows this summer and I'm concentrating on listings. I'm trying to add new items everyday. If you want to stay current, you can favorite my shop by clicking on the little heart next to "add to favorites" on the left hand side in my etsy shop.
