Yesterday we stopped by my favorite junk shop. This place is set off from the road and looks like it has been there for a thousand years. Whenever I am in the Florence area, I always make a point of stopping by and seeing what's new. The inside of the store is a total disaster....dirty, dark and the smell of "old" lingers in the air. But.....you never know what you are going to find there. Yesterday, I found an old typewriter for $5, a great deal although the keys need some major cleaning, a bunch of old paint chippy hardware, a neat vintage fabric purse and some beautiful old beaded fabric.
Here I am looking over some old buttons, zippers and sewing patterns. There is so much I could pick up and bring home, but I am trying to be a bit more selective these days.
Anyway, it was fun and definitely worth the hour or so I spent rooting through everything.
I listed a few new items on ebay. I made a cute assemblage bird with "create art" written across the front.
I also listed my "G" mini assemblage doll, part of my A-Z collection that I am offering. It is a little flower in which I used mostly metal parts. ( a laundry pin, metal petals, an old watch part, etc.)
The picture is not really great, sometimes it's hard to capture the 3-dimensional pieces in a scan.
